UK Parliament 'in the dark' about Global Warming

The Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace and Piccadilly Circus were among London landmarks plunged into darkness to raise awareness of global warming.

Lights across the city were switched off for an hour on Thursday night to encourage London's three million households to conserve energy. The Lights Out London campaign aimed to have all non-essential lighting turned off between 2100 and 2200 BST.  It followed similar campaigns in cities including Sydney, Paris and Rome.

It was the first time the lights at Piccadilly Circus had been switched off since World War II.

Source: The BBC - alas, whose own media 'light' for balanced and fair reporting has long been extinguished.

Ed.  The lights out campaign itself draws its inspiration from a similar principle employed in the thinking of Al Gore and climate change alarmists the world over.  As regards the facts of global warming, most UK politicians appear content to remain in the dark.

What time is lighting up time in London on the longest day of the year? I live in West Wales and it certainly is not 2100 BST. It is not dark by 2200 BST either.

They did this in Sydneythis year and then discovered that people actually used more electricity on that night than they otherwise would have! Why? Because people still wanted to do all the things they normally would have done in the hour, so they did them before or after. But also they had to do extra things like record the TV shows they couldn't watch while doing their bit for the environment, so that used extra power!
